The Deschutes Chapter of Trout Unlimited plans on playing a role in this area below Pelton Round Butte Dam to the Columbia River by:

• Monitoring activities and issues in the area surrounding land use, flow management, advocacy issues, and develop plans as required.
• Working closely with the appropriate agencies to study and restore priority habitat for native and wild salmonids in the Lower Deschutes region.

The Lower Deschutes River has experienced record numbers of returning steelhead populations in recent years and continues to provide quality fishing year round for a large variety of endangered, native, and wild anadromous fish.
