The Deschutes Chapter of Trout Unlimited plans on playing a role in this area above Steelhead Falls to the headwaters of the Deschutes River by:
Monitoring activities and issues in the area surrounding land use, flow management, advocacy issues, and develop plans as required.
Working closely with the appropriate agencies to study and restore priority habitat for Bull Trout and Redband in the Upper Deschutes region.
Developing an action plan which specifically addresses flow issues and monitoring on the Middle Deschutes.
Developing a community outreach program that seeks to educate the public and develop strategic partnerships regarding the importance of native species of Redband Trout and Bull Trout in the Middle and Upper Deschutes River System.

This section of the Middle Deschutes is a wonderful area to find various trout living in diverse conditions. The issue of water flow and habitat conservation for our native salmonids is the primary focus for Deschutes Trout Unlimited.
