Phil began his professional career as an environmental educator, working for the Yosemite Institute and the Student Conservation Association, before earning a Masters degree in Environmental Science, Policy, and Management from U.C. Berkeley.  He worked for several years to build local watershed councils and support watershed restoration in the Sierra Nevada and San Francisco Bay Area in California.  He currently spends his work days helping to restore forests and enhance water quality in the Central Oregon region and loves to hike, ski, and, of course, fly fish our local waters.
