Bio-Sketch of Roger Rudolph
For the purposes of introducing myself to the Deschutes Chapter of Trout Unlimited I offer the following:
Attended San Jose State University 1963 – 1967 with a semester for active duty in the U.S. Army reserves, Fort Ord, CA. Graduated with a B.S in Wildlife Management
1968 - Began employment with the National Park Service as a Park Ranger at the Horace M. Albright Training Center in Grand Canyon AZ 1968 – 1969 Park Ranger Intake Trainee Grand Canyon N. P and Yosemite N.P. 1969 – 1971 Park Ranger Channel Islands National Park 1971 – 1973 Supervisory Park Ranger Yosemite Valley, Yosemite N.P. 1973 – 1975 Wilderness Co-ordinater Yosemite N. P. 1975 – 1979 District Ranger Yellowstone N. P. 1979 – 1981 Assistant Chief Ranger Acadia N. P. Maine 1981 – 1983 Chief Ranger Crater Lake N. P. Oregon 1983 – 1986 Chief Ranger Zion N.P. I have served on the following boards: Association of Park Rangers Port Angeles Kiwanis Club Port Angeles YMCA Clallam County United Way Central Oregon Masters Aquatic
After 34 years with the National Park Service I retired and moved to Bend Oregon where I spent my time fly fishing, hiking, backpacking, skiing, traveling, swimming, running, biking, and enjoying every minute of my retired life.
I was recently recognized for my contribution to the demolition of two dams and ecosystem restoration of the Elwha River in Olympic National Park. I have been a TU member since 1992.
